This course comprises of the student working closely with one or more faculty members on an empirical research project.  The student will be exposed to many levels of the research process such as data collection, data analysis, and formal scientific write-up.  Learning will occur through an apprenticeship with the faculty members.  The course may serve as a precursor to a dissertation or simply to satisfy a student’s interest in a particular research topic.
