This course will discuss general principles of tort law as well as covering a selected number of torts in greater depth. The goals and objectives of tort law will be examined in the context of the relationship between torts, contract, criminal law and property law. There will be emphasis placed on the different range of interests protected by torts (property, economic, personal etc) and the need to achieve a proper balance between competing interests.
